What does remove background do here?
This page is a browser tool that can remove background from a still you already have. You add a JPG, PNG, or WebP. A small on-device model finds the subject, drops the rest, and shows a cutout on a checkerboard. Transparent PNG or a flat fill

Limits and tips
- A subject that fills the frame with a simple back cuts cleaner than a tiny figure in a crowd.
- Hair, fur, smoke, and glass are the usual miss. This page will not claim studio mattes.
- PNG keeps empty pixels. JPG and WebP flatten onto white or the color you picked.
- The first cut usually takes 30–60 seconds. Later photos in the same tab are often quicker.
- On a phone the cut is lighter because of device limits. For a cleaner edge, do it on a computer.
- Each file must stay under 20 MB. A side longer than 8000 px is scaled down before the cut.
- HEIC from iPhone, TIFF, and PDF are rejected. Save a JPG or PNG first.
